School.coop will contain materials to introduce co-operatives, co-operative enterprise and co-operative learning in schools. It draws on the rich global experience of co-operative enterprise.

For far too long the size, scale and impact of co-operative businesses has been invisible in curriculum, frequently consigned to brief references in History – and largely ignored in areas such as business studies.

There has been little recognition of the dynamism of the co-operative sector, the global application of the model, and how successful co-operative businesses can and are contributing to lifting and keeping people out of poverty, promoting social inclusion and developing active citizenship skills.
